Goyt Wines Recommends
We have an extensive range of wines, sparkling wines, local ales and spirits in our shop. Here are some of our favourites!
A juicy classic from Marlborough, New Zealand. Loads of passionfruit and gooseberry with a good mineral balance. Great if you like a dry crisp aromatic wine. Complements chicken and oily fish but equally delicious with a bag of crisps on a Friday night!
The Rude Mechanicals Three Monkeys GSM
A blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro from Barossa Valley in Australia. A ripe, spicy and fruity red with a lick of creamy oak. Gorgeous with a steak.
Rustenberg Cabernet Sauvignon
A beautifully balanced Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa. It's had 16 months in French oak giving it a hint of toasty vanilla, a rich taste of dark berry fruit, and well integrated tannins. A perfect accompaniment to a Sunday roast.
Baltasar El Héroe
A wolf in sheep's clothing, this grenache may appear light in the glass but it packs a punch in flavour. Fruits of the forest gives way to a woody backnote after 10 months in oak. Nice and grippy!
Terrazze Della Luna Nosiola
Nosiola is a signature grape of Trentino in northern Italy; it's light and floral with notes of apple and pear. Really zesty and a great alternative to Pinot Grigio. Lovely shared with friends (or kept to yourself...)
Southern Italy's best-known grape, this Primitivo is a rich, warming, spicy red from sun-drenched Puglia. Delicious with meaty pasta dishes.
Domain Road Dry Riesling
Forget your preconceptions about Riesling, this is a gorgeous dry-style wine with aromas of lime and mandarin and a hint of ginger. A long, complex finish, try it with sushi.
Gouguenheim Malbec Bubbles
Sparkling Malbec rosé. A fabulous sparkler from Argentina, this retains all the clarity of fruit that we love from a Malbec red and is perfect if you fancy a change from Prosecco. Great pre-party but also lovely with pudding!
A really gorgeous Chardonnay from Chile, this is complex and aromatic with flavours of sweet citrus fruit and floral character. Ideal for appetisers and seafood.
Domaine Grande Vacqueyras
If you like Châteauneuf-du-Pape but you don't like the price tag, this is a great wine for you to try! A blend of Grenah, Syrah and Mourvèdre, it's from a neighbouring village and delivers a wine of excellent quality.
A beautifully made, smooth and rounded gin from England's South coast. Warming liquorice, fresh citrus and spices combined with Macedonian juniper and English coriander balance this gin to perfection. Salcombe gin regularly comes out on top at our monthly gin tastings.
Cardenal Cisneros Sherry
Pedro Jiminez is Christmas cake in a glass. Spicy, with a sweetness akin to dark molasses, it's gorgeous over a chocolate brownie sundae.
